Faceing Blog's The Natural World is a monthly post that showcases photography depicting animals (sometimes in man-made habitats) and environments across the planet.

A Bryde's whale and seagulls feast on anchovies in the Gulf of Thailand, Sept 9. An estimated population of 30 to 35 Bryde's whales are commonly seen along the upper Gulf of Thailand coastlines, between March and October. The Bryde's whale is listed in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) which prohibits international trade of any parts of the animal.

A snapping turtle was one of several turtles greeting guests, at Hartman Reserve in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The live critters were the center of attention Sunday for Hartman's turtle open house. Dozens of people and families filed in throughout the afternoon for turtle-related activities, displays and snacks.


 A white-tailed eagle is photographed in its enclosure in the zoo in Stralsund, Germany, on Sept. 8. This large eagle breeds in northern Europe and northern Asia. The largest bird population in Europe is found along the coast of Norway.
